Turn a CSV, TSV or plain text file of flashcards into an Anki .apkg deck. Paste or upload, download, import. No signup.
Comma and semicolon separated files are read as proper CSV, so a back side wrapped in quotes can contain commas and line breaks. If the first row names the columns (Front and Back, Question and Answer, or Term and Definition), the converter uses those columns and ignores the rest, which is handy for exports with extra columns like tags or dates.
Tab separated files work the same way. Copying two columns straight out of Google Sheets or Excel gives you tab separated text, so pasting is often quicker than saving a file.
Plain text works if each line has a front and a back separated by a tab, comma, semicolon, or " - ". With the dash, only the first " - " on a line splits the card, so dashes inside the answer are safe.
Wrap the hidden part in double curly braces: The capital of France is {{Paris}}. Each set of braces becomes its own cloze deletion. Anki syntax like {{c1::Paris}} is kept as it is. A second column on a cloze row becomes the Back Extra field.
For every way to get cards into Anki, read the guide to importing flashcards into Anki. Moving from a specific app? Use the Quizlet to Anki converter or the Gizmo to Anki converter.
Yes. There's no signup, no watermark and no card limit beyond 2,000 cards per file.
An .apkg is an Anki deck package. It holds the cards and the deck in one file, so you can import it into Anki desktop, AnkiDroid or AnkiMobile without mapping fields.
Yes. Put one card per line with the front and back separated by a tab, comma, semicolon or a spaced dash, then upload the .txt file or paste its contents.
Yes. Any row containing text in double curly braces, like {{Paris}}, becomes an Anki cloze card. Existing Anki cloze syntax such as {{c1::Paris}} is kept.
Up to 1 MB and 2,000 cards per conversion. Split larger files into several decks.
