How to Export RemNote Flashcards to Anki

Steps checked October 2026 against the RemNote Help Center and the Anki manual.

RemNote exports straight to Anki. Open the document, click the three-dot menu in the upper right, choose Export, pick Anki (Flashcards Only) and download the .apkg file. Then in Anki, go to File → Import and select that file. No CSV and no field mapping.

Open the document

Go to the RemNote document that holds the flashcards you want to move.

Click the three-dot menu, then Export

The menu is in the upper-right corner of the document.

Choose Anki (Flashcards Only)

RemNote shows a preview of the export. Check that the cards look right.

Download the .apkg file

Click the blue download button at the bottom and save the file.

Import it into Anki

In Anki desktop, click File → Import and select the .apkg file. On Anki 23.10 or later, the import screen also lets you choose whether to import any learning progress stored in the package.

Export your whole knowledge base

To move everything at once, go to Settings → Export in RemNote, choose Anki (Flashcards Only), and click the blue Export button. You get one file with the flashcards from every document.

What carries over and what doesn't

According to RemNote's help center:

Notes without flashcards are dropped. Only bullets that have a flashcard make it into the file.
Hierarchy is kept as context. Each exported card includes its parent bullets, so a card deep in an outline still makes sense on its own in Anki.
Multiple-choice cards become plain cards. Anki has no built-in multiple-choice type, so the correct option is shown in bold.

RemNote's documentation doesn't say whether review history is included. Import a small document first to check how the cards and their scheduling look before moving everything.

Can RemNote export to Anki?

Do I need to convert RemNote cards to CSV first?
